William (Billy) Gunn graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 2022 with a BA in Biochemistry and Spanish. While completing his undergraduate studies, particularly through his biochemistry seminar course, Billy found an interest in cancer immunology. He joined the lab shortly after undergrad as a Research Technician in July of 2022. He received his Masters of Biomedical Sciences from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in 2024. Billy has helped with a variety of projects in the lab. Wanting to better understand the immune system and cancer immunotherapy, his current research focuses on oncolytic viruses and how they can be used to modulate the tumor microenvironment and improve immune function.
