Dr. Greg M. Delgoffe is Associate Professor of Immunology and the principal investigator of the lab. Greg has a long-standing interest in understanding the intersection of metabolism and nutrient sensing and T cell fate.
He received his Ph.D from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2010, and completed postdoctoral training at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 2014. He started his lab at the University of Pittsburgh in July of 2014 with a Seahorse and a dream. He has an appointment in the Department of Immunology, and his lab is located at the Hillman Cancer Center, on the 4th floor of the Assembly building.
Greg wears a lot of hats. He is the Director of the Tumor Microenvironment Center (TMC) at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, which brings multiple faculty together to holistically explore the features of cancer tissue. He also serves as Co-Leader of the Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Program (CIIP) at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. He acts as Associate Director for the Ph.D graduate Program in Microbiology and Immunology (PMI), and is Editor in Chief of Wiley’s Immunology.
Finally, Greg also serves on the advisory board of several biotech companies, and has founded Novasenta and RemplirBio to develop various technologies arising from the TMC/lab.
